Summary:
The present report fits the "Market Study of Algarve and Lagos" and the "Evaluation of the macroeconomic impact of “Conjunto Turístico” resort", considering the project and descriptive memory of the tourist resort which will be constructed in Meia-Praia, Lagos council, supplied by Dynamic Hotels on the 6th and 13th of April of 2006.
The work carried out by the International Centre of Territory and Tourism Research (CIITT) of Algarve’s University aims to answer the "Market Study of Algarve and Lagos " and the "Evaluation of the macroeconomic impact of “Conjunto Turístico” resort" by gathering a multidisciplinary team of investigators with knowledge in tourism, regional economics, management, marketing and econometrics . The basic data for the market study are mainly from Portugal’s National Statistics Institute, being complemented when necessary, with other regional resources such as the Algarve Golf Association and several Marinas and Recreation Ports of Algarve.
The basic data for the evaluation of macroeconomic impact is justified on the data crossing of the promoter (investment) and the evaluation of market (exploitation) outputs carried out on the first phase, being the impacts estimated through an input-output matrix of Algarve’s region developed by the Development and Regional Economics Research Centre (CIDER) of Algarve’s University.
The final object of developed methodologies in each of these
phases seeks, beyond the own study and evaluation’s knowledge, to supply
the Dynamic Hotels with fitting routines of "conjunto turístico"
as a Potential National Interest Project (PIN), namely through the evaluation
domains with incidence on the output of goods and services which can be object
of international change or displayed to global competitors market, insertion
in dynamic demanding sectors in global market, job and direct product’s
creation and rank of exposition to foreign markets, between others prominence
matters about the estimated contribution of "conjunto turístico"
for the council’s and region development.
